Sunday School Rally Day

Church News >>

August 27, 2006

Rally Day is traditionally the day that Sunday School starts back up in the fall. Although we have had Sunday School all summer, each lesson has been individually centered on one of the Arch books published by Concordia Publishing House. By combining the ages we have also given our teachers a well deserved break from preparing and teaching on a weekly basis.

Aug 27 is Rally Day for Good Shepherd this fall. Each of the children will advance to the next age grouped class for which they will be assigned and we will place this year's Sunday School teachers in office during the morning service. (For the teachers: if you cannot attend on Aug 27, please let Pastor know).

We are also excited about the new curriculum by Concordia Publishing House called Growing in Christ. With this new curriculum all age groups including the adult class will be following the same basic lesson plan. Every age group will be studying the same Bible text each week and with an expanded number of texts, more of the Bible will be studied through the course of each year. All members of the family will be learning and talking about the same lessons from week to week. This is a great way to reinforce each lesson and help all of us to remember that God's grace is explained in many ways through God's Word as we study it from cover to cover.
