April 15 was a great day for Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. On that day we confirmed two adults and two teenagers and accepted one adult by transfer. Among them were Daniel and Cammion Franzen.
Many of you know this newly wed couple by now, especially since we feted them with a reception after a service shortly after Pastor Sandeno married them on Jan. 13 at Grace in Summerville. Some of the following information you may not know and will help you to know them a bit better.
Cammion grew up in Asheville, NC and moved to Charleston a year and half ago to pursue her career in banking. In Asheville she attended a Presbyterian (PCA) church and comes from a large family of an older sister, a twin sister and two younger brothers. Cammion currently is employed at Atlantic Bank and Trust in downtown Charleston as a Personal Banker. Prior to the opening of Atlantic Bank she worked at Wachovia where one of her customers (a colonel) introduced her to Daniel. God does work in unexpected ways!!!
Daniel, however, grew up on the opposite side of our country - in southern California. In May of 2003 he joined the Marine Corps and is an active duty sergeant participating in a commissioning program. Upon completion of his bachelor's degree, he will receive a commission in the Marine Corps. He attended Redeemer Lutheran Church and School in Ontario, CA and transferred to us from there. He has an older and younger sister. Daniel was recently elected to be our Financial Secretary.
We welcome this young couple into our midst. We encourage you to meet them, talk with them and help them to feel at home in this community. Also be sure to congratulate them: they are expecting their first child in mid-December.
